CEO 2023 Stream Schedule & Preview

CEO 2023 takes place from June 23 to 25 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. This tournament has the privilege (and logistical nightmare) of being the first American “supermajor” tier tournament to feature Street Fighter 6, and the turnout certainly represents the white-hot demand for offline competition.

The CEO 2023 tournament lineup includes: Breakers Revenge, Capcom vs. SNK 2, DNF Duel, Def Jam: Fight for NY, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Guilty Gear Xrd REV2, Guilty Gear: Strive, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter 6, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Smash Bros Melee (Singles and Doubles), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Singles and Doubles), Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Tekken 7, The King of Fighters XV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r].

The community tournament lineup includes: Blazblue Centralfiction, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Divekick, Fighting EX Layer, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R, Idol Showdown, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R, The King of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match Final Edition, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Pokken Tournament DX, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Samurai Showdown, Skullgirls, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and Windjammers 2.

Other games on offer include a selection of dance games under “Project Storm”: Dance Dance Revolution A20 Plus, Pump it Up XX, In The Groove 2 and StepManiaX. The community tournament lineup also includes card games such as the One Piece Official Card Game and Marvel Snap.

Jebailey speaks out about the state of CEO amidst new Florida discrimination laws

Event organizer Alex Jebailey recently spoke to the Daytona Beach News-Journal on the subject of recently passed or upcoming legislation passed in Florida that would impact LGBTQ+ people in the event’s home state of Florida. A lengthy breakdown of the situation surrounding these laws is available from the same outlet, which details the most relevant law that classifies using bathrooms according to a person’s preferred gender as a criminal misdemeanor in public venues like the Ocean Center. Jebailey made the following comment to the News-Journal on the subject of perceptions in the FGC about his event’s future:

“All the DeSantis talk and anti-trans laws are literally scaring attendees from coming down to Florida,” he said. “People think they are going to die or get hurt coming down here. That’s what I deal with. I have to keep spending money (in marketing) to make people feel safer.”
