Combo Breaker 2023 Stream Schedule & Preview

No Coast, No Kings. The Midwest’s premiere FGC event returns to the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel from May 26 to 28 to showcase international competition across a wealth of titles over the Memorial Day weekend. Combo Breaker 2023 Tournament Lineup

Combo Breaker 2023 Stream Schedule

With the massive array of international talent competing across the main stage line up, we’ll save our usual player preview segment for last. Combo Breaker will feature 16 streams across all events, so you’ll want to keep our schedule graphics handy to find your way around!

Combo Breaker 2023 Special Events

As always, Combo Breaker is playing host to special format tournaments and exhibitions across a variety of communities, so don’t miss these on the schedule:

• Will It Kill..? LIVE: If you’re not familiar, Sajam’s live-streamed game show where viewers stake channel points on the outcome of a combo killing the opponent or not has been so popular it recently made an appearance at Dreamhack for a live show. The show is going on the road once again to open Combo Breaker’s stream programming on Friday. That’s noon CT on the Teamsp00ky stream.
• Auction Tournaments: The way these work is that players have to stake cash on characters and teams pulled out of a hat by an auctioneer and win bids to participate in a single-elimination bracket with only the characters they have won at auction. The games featured at Combo Breaker’s auction tournaments are:
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Friday at 1 PM CT on the TampaNeverSleeps stream.
  • Guilty Gear XRD REV2: Friday at 1 PM CT on the LowKickEsports stream.
  • Guilty Gear Strive: Friday at 9 PM CT on the IFCYipes stream.
  • Tekken 7: Friday at 9 PM CT on Tasty Steve’s stream.
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Saturday at 8 PM CT on the UnrivaledTournaments stream.
• Skullgirls Exhibition by Muñoz – Boomers vs. Zoomers: A 6 vs. 6 draft team tournament pitting oldheads in the Skullgirls community against the up and comers. Check it out on Friday at 9 PM CT on Teamsp00ky’s stream. Lineup includes:

ASL Commentary Stream by DeafGamersTV

One of the more interesting efforts in expanding the accessibility of competitive streams is the effort by Chris over at DeafGamersTV in providing American Sign Language commentary over many big tournaments across a variety of games. Chris and his channel will be live on the floor of Combo Breaker for Guilty Gear: Strive, Guilty Gear Xrd REV2, Street Fighter V and Tekken 7. Dragon Ball, Guilty Gear and KOF newcomers not legal at Combo Breaker

In the rush to announce DLC and product updates ahead of Street Fighter 6’s imminent release next week, Combo Breaker is faced with multiple incoming patches on tournament weekend. Competitors and organized have been blindsided with a balance patch for Dragon Ball FighterZ and two new characters in Asuka R# for Guilty Gear Strive and Sylvie Paula Paula for The King of Fighters XV alongside their respective game updates.

Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive will not be updated to the latest versions for Combo Breaker 2023. The KOFXV tournament will use the latest version, however Sylvie Paula Paula will not be tournament legal.

Combo Breaker shop goes live on Friday

It’s no secret that Combo Breaker’s merchandise every year is carefully selected for high quality and results in a limited quantity that will definitely sell out. Organizer TheHadou has posted some shots of this year’s flannel to tease what’s in store. As usual, the shop will go live on-site and online on Friday. When supplies sell out, the shop will be accepting pre-orders for future batches. Don’t miss your chance to get in early!

The Tekken 7 tournament is a Master level event on the 2023 Tekken World Tour. SNK has provided a $3,000 pot bonus for The King of Fighters XV, and KI United along with Rotendo and TheHadou himself have provided a $1,000 pot bonus for Killer Instinct.  Full brackets are available on Start.gg.
